Sierra Key, MA
As a group therapist at the Lombard location, Sierra is charged with leading psychoeducational groups for teens in a warm and supportive atmosphere of understanding and acceptance. With a flair for creativity, Sierra has a knack for keeping clients engaged while teaching them valuable life lessons, skills and tools for coping effectively. Sierra’s warmth and authenticity combined with her tremendous commitment to providing top quality care makes her an indispensable part of our team.
Sierra received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology at The Institution of Lane College in Jackson, TN. She then pursued higher education and received a Master of Science Degree in Counseling Psychology where she studied at Alabama A&M University in Huntsville, AL. Sierra is currently continuing to refine her craft by obtaining a Licensed Practiced Counselor (LPC) certification.
Sierra has had the opportunity to work for Health Connect America in Decatur, AL where she facilitated Substance Abuse groups for the adolescent population. She then transitioned to Alabama A&M University in the Student Health & Wellness Counseling Department where she continued to facilitate Substance Abuse and Anger Management group sessions.
Sierra reports that she likes working for Adolescent Growth because it allows her to do what she loves to do every day. She reports that she value giving back to the community and working with children who will one day be our future. Sierra is known for her inventive strategies that keep teens engaged during groups. The close bonds she forms with our clients have sparked many remarkable changes, and Sierra continues to use her generous heart and humble spirit to aid teens in achieving lifelong recovery.
Outside of work, she loves to travel the world, read fiction novels, and attend walkathons in the community.
