Maria was originally born in Stanton, CA in Orange County but moved to Valley Center, in Northeast San Diego County when she was three. Maria grew up on a family farm until she moved at the age of 20. Maria graduated from high school and spent two years at Palomar College in San Diego County where she studied journalism. Maria’s kind heart and desire to help others that are hurting quickly moved her into the helping profession. Maria has served as a legal secretary, as a medical secretary, and as a medical records reviewer. Maria also wed and proudly served her two beautiful children as a stay-at-home mother for several years. As Maria’s children grew older, Maria returned to what she loved and embraced her passion to help adolescents as a camp counselor.
Currently, in her role as an Admissions Specialist, Maria provides support, direction and a listening ear to parents in need. Maria thoroughly enjoys working at Adolescent Growth because she is afforded the abundant opportunities to concentrate her efforts on supporting the clients’ parents in their time of need. Maria has a great deal to offer parents through her experience of a parent of adolescents.
When she is not at work Maria enjoys reading, watching movies, interacting with her children, and spending quality time with friends and extended family.
