Overview
For over six years Adolescent Growth has been known throughout the treatment community as one of the leaders in treating males and females age 12-17 struggling with co-occurring disorders. Our highly celebrated staff focuses on treating the entire client: addressing each child’s physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, and social needs. Our holistic approach also reaches to parents, siblings and extended family members in order to facilitate change and bring about lifelong recovery and wholeness.
The co-occurring disorders track at Adolescent Growth aids persons that are plagued by more than one issue, typically a mental health issue along with a substance addiction. Co-occurring disorders, also known as a dual diagnosis disorders, are complex and require specialized treatment to address the complexity that is presented. Persons dealing with a mental health issue will oftentimes turn to drugs in order to anesthesize the pain they are experiencing emotionally. Therefore, treating the addiction alone will only produce temporary relief at best. So too, obtaining treatment that only focuses on the mental health issues will not be sufficient to address the substance abuse issue. However, in order to effect lasting change, adolescents must be given an opportunity to address the core issues within a safe atmosphere specially designed to treat both the addiction and the mental health issue. This is the intimate six bed home-like treatment setting that we have created at Adolescent Growth. Our facilities are staffed by people who have dedicated their lives to aiding adolescents and their families who are impacted by mental illness and addiction achieve full recovery.
