To arrange admission of a client to one of our programs, the legal guardian/parents of the client or the person currently treating the client may contact Adolescent Growth Admissions Office at any time. We are available to aid you 24-hours a day. We offer free telephone consultation and financial planning. We are contracted with most major insurance companies.
During the initial telephone consultation, persons in the Admissions Office request that current clinical information about the client's condition be provided. This information will help determine which level of care is most suitable for the client and it will also be used to design a thorough treatment plan once the client has entered one of our programs. In addition, this clinical information will serve to provide clinical proof to the client's insurance that treatment is needed, if insurance is being used to fund treatment.
WHAT HAPPENS ON ADMISSIONS DAY
The client and parents of the client will sign admission papers and review other documents that will be explained by the admissions coordinator. Parents will receive a Parent Package with itemized lists of what the program entails. The client will complete a program orientation that includes a urine drug screen, a body check, and review of client rights, program rules, etc. The client will then enter the population. There, a Floor Leader will welcome them and provide a tour of the facility. The client and the parent will meet with the primary therapist separately in order to begin to establish rapport and gain a historical perspective on what has brought the family into treatment.
The attending psychiatrist will take medical and psychiatric histories and examine the client. It is important for the client and the client's family to tell the physician about any medical problems, including allergies to medications. A licensed therapist and the treatment team will do an assessment so that a working diagnosis can be generated and the collaborative treatment plan can be initiated. This individualized treatment plan will be completed within days of admission.
